Racial pride is OK for every race except whites – Isn’t that in and of itself discriminatory? Affirmative Action is discriminatory against whites. Racism is so ‘rampant’ in America because Al and Jesse are in America claiming everything is racist. You have Don Imus calling a group of girls nappy headed, and that becomes ‘the worst racial slur ever’?! Macaca – a nonsense word – becomes racist? Four black men and on black woman rape/torture/kill a white couple and that’s not a racist/hate crime? I know some people only pay attention to what they want to hear, condemn anything that doesn’t fit into their world view as lies, but this is getting ridiculous.

just look at the kids today. bringing guns to school instead of books. voting for celebrities instead of scholars for president. getting pregnant at 12 instead of playing kick ball or something. or not getting pregnant at all because they are gay.

as far as social liberalism… should i be allowed to walk around the streets smoking crack and shooting up heroin? should i be allowed to have sex with different kinds of animals in the park? or better yet in the zoo? if i wind up calling these animals after the first date, should i be allowed to marry them later? im all about progress but a line must be drawn.

What is wrong with liberalism? I understand not wanting it to invade economics, but from a social and ethical perspective, you can’t deny liberalism. Increasing freedom (provided increased freedom does not infringe upon the freedom of others) is always a good thing, and, in my opinion, a historical imperative (that’s where the Marxists had it wrong, they went economic first, socially is where it starts).

The denizens of Spain are Spanish, not Latino, the vast majority of central and southern Americans are from mixed (Spanish, Indian, and African) backgrounds and are Latinos. They threw off Spanish chains and successfully liberated themselves from imperialist tyranny much like The Americans did to the English, only they did so without the help of the French. Without much help at all, really. They are a very, very different people from the Spanish (I’m assuming you’re saying the previous argument failed because they are the same, otherwise I’m clueless as to what you’re basing that one) and it is ok to be proud of that. Just like it is OK to be proud of being an American for the good parts of American history (The Declaration of Indenpence, The Bill of Rights, kicking Nazi butt in WWII, the fact that we have one of the most culturally diverse and liberal societies in the world).

Before the europeans showed up African slavery was a very different thing. It was more similar to endentured servitude, and if one couldn’t take care of one’s “slaves” (who were usually opponents one captured in battle who would serve the other for a few years as a point of pride before returning home) they were freed. Of course, this varied from tribe to tribe. In early undeveloped cultures this was almost a necessity, like arranged marriage.

And, I would really like to point out, that just like when you were a kid, and your brother hit you, your parents wouldn’t accept, “But Billy did it first!” as a justification for you hitting him back. A first evil does not justify a second one.

Racial pride makes sense when you live in a society which discriminates against your race. It is almost a necessity in order to be able to grow and to make it. Whites aren’t discriminated against in America, therefore white pride is senseless. There also isn’t a unifying white-culture, really. We’re way too diverse for that, almost all of us are mutts with drastically different backgrounds.
