holy crap. i can’t stand articles like this. the more i read these articles, the more depressed i get over the current state of christianity in the world. the problem with these people is that they are conservatives first, christians distantly second. these people are cowards who hind behind a religion to promote disgusting, vile ideologies that they would hold whether or not their religion existed. they are power-hungry, hate-filled individuals who pervert and twist the christian experience into a tool to be used for their own gain. nothing more. if it wasn’t christianity, these people could find a way to turn buddhism into a violent, hateful religion.

i weep for the damage they do to everyone around them – christians and non-christians alike.

To say this is the true side of Christianity isn’t accurate, this is a radical and insane group, who wants all sorts of Scripture to be true, except Roman 13 which says, “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.”

Thank you for the information about that. I am a pro gun progressive, and I support open carry laws, even though I understand in some more crowded metropolitan areas why people want to restrict this.

However, the fact remains that he is part of Pastor Stephen Anderson’s flock. There was no imminent danger in this case, but it sets a precedent: people who are armed (and I assume trained) who are being influenced by conservative Christian hate speech and incitement showing up to Obama events. No president has had a greater danger of assassination since Kennedy, and I fear for his life.

There needs to be some facts set straight about this article as the writer clearly either did no do enough research or chose to lie to make an outrageous tie. I speak about Chris, the guy carrying the AR-15. A few things this article does not explain:

- He and several others there are Libertarians.
- They contacted Phoenix PD the day before the event and organized with them.
- They had 2 casual clothed officers around them at all times.
- They were not allowed anywhere near Obama.
- Open carry of any firearm is 100% legal in Arizona and in actuality not that big of a deal here
- He didn’t do it out of “Radical Christian Conservative” rage. He did it so that what happened at the protest would, people would come up and discuss rights with him.

No this is not Christianity in anyway shape form, This is actually blasphemy against Christ and his teachings. True Christians are too busy loving and helping others and do not boast therefore are not noticed in the Media. Don’t let this wolf in sheep clothing fool ya!! Just because someone claims to be a christian it definitely does not make them one. Get to know Jesus then you will recognize the true Christians. These people are the anti Christ because they are teaching every thing against Christ. Even the devil knows the bible.

I did some research on this, and it appears you are correct. My previous pointed to a telegraph story that quotes a research author who wrote a book about it. I would like to find some figures somewhere either way, but I’m sure if there is a database on this, it won’t be released to the pubic for a generation.
