That means that of the 20 women in my unit, 6.6% of them have been raped? If that were the case, we, the unit, would not be functional. 7 raped individuals in a unit would definetly effect morale and we (the rest of the unit) would difinetely know that something was up. Do you see the absurdity of serving your country and being raped by your comrades? That is why this story stands out. Furthermore, at least in civilian life we have the proper channels to report rape. In the military and corrupt factions like KBR, you don't even get that recourse. Not in any way downplaying rape in civilian life, but do you see the irony of having to fight alongside your rapist? Do you see the absurdity of serving your country and being raped by your comrades?

That is why this story stands out.

Furthermore, at least in civilian life we have the proper channels to report rape. In the military and corrupt factions like KBR, you don’t even get that recourse.
