Media: Air America Pulls the Plug

Citing financial woes, Progressive radio network Air America has filed for bankruptcy and pulled the plug, ceasing live programming effective 6 pm EST on Thursday, January 21. This adds salt to the Progressive movement, still nursing the wound of Tuesday’s Republican victory in Massachusetts.

Blue Dog Democrat Pleased With Brown’s Win

Senator Ben Nelson’s (D-Neb) Communications Director, Jake Thompson, told me that Senator Ben Nelson is “pleased with last night’s results.” Thompson said he “never asked to be the 60th Democrat.” Nelson will no longer feel the intense pressure of party loyalty to be the 60th Democratic vote.

US Military’s “Security” Not Helping Haitians

The United States has sent millions of dollars worth of aid to Haiti, much which has been distributed by US military personnel. As the days go by, however, the military on the ground has began to exercise harsh techniques to prevent looting in Port-au-Prince. Shooting machine guns into the air and pointing them at hungry Haitians is not what should be happening.
