Huffington vs. Ailes: The Video Highlights

If you missed the battle of the media titans on ABC’s This Week last Sunday, here are a few highlights to enjoy. Liberal blogosphere queen Arianna Huffington took some effective jabs at Fox News conservative king maker Roger Ailes, particularly about Glenn Beck and the network’s decision to abruptly cut off live coverage of President Obama’s Q&A with Republicans last Friday. But Ailes punched back, too. He denied Beck’s inflammatory rhetoric is dangerous, hiding behind that cowardly executive defense “we can’t be the word police.” He did concede he cares only about ratings. Duh. And offered an odd response– which included audaciously proclaiming Fox News “the most trusted name in news”– as to just why Fox pulled the plug on Obama.

As guest host Barbara Walters — who seemed to do everything in her power to keep the controversy on a low heat–said on Monday’s edition of The View: “it made for engaging television.”

glenn beck delivered what I submit is an effective rebuttal in what appears to me to be a precise and comprehensive examination of exactly what he said, how he said it, and what he meant when he applied the term slaughter (of the economy). he explains transparently the context of his criticism by replaying his argument televised originally on nov 3 09. huffinton’s claim of him inciting the downtrodden by saying he accused the administration of wanting to slaughter (and she specified “killing spree”) is the sound reasoning behind the popularity of his arguments. This rebuttal was televised on feb 2 10 on the glenn beck show. for those who seek a more honest portrayal rather than a hateful misleading one, huffington has been discredited. fox continues earn the attention of truth seekers. I’m obviously not as intellegent as the sophisticated progressive audience you seem to attract but i can add 1 + 1. (unless it has some model of relative value i am unaware of.)

i correct myself by saying the rebuttal date was feb 3 10 instead of feb 2. and apologize for incorrect gramatics crediting beck’s argument to huffington’s. i am a novice and significatly inexperienced.
