Olbermann’s Moving Special Comment on Health Reform

“Last Friday night my father asked me to kill him,” Keith Olbermann said as he opened his Special Comment on the Wednesday edition of “Countdown.” This powerful and moving comment is not for the squeamish. But it brings home–and in graphic detail–what real people face everyday as they struggle with health care decisions for themselves and their family members. Olbermann –who has been in the throes of his dad’s health crisis for the last six months– gets personal and political as he challenges those participating in the “bipartisan” Health Summit in Washington Thursday to ditch the scare tactics with their talk of “death panels” and finally heal the broken system. This must see “Comment” crosses party lines. Like illness. And doing the right thing.
