RNC Chair Spins Around Latest Fundraising Gaffe

After he’s done with his stint as chair of the Republican National Committee Michael Steele should shop himself around for an deodorant commercial. The guy–who’s had to bob and weave around a swarm of Republican Party snafus ( some of his own making)–never seems to break a sweat.

On Thursday, after the website POLITICO published RNC documents that smeared both Democratic leaders AND Republican donors, Steele hit the friendly and unbalanced network and tried to spin his way out of some scathing descriptions of GOP donors. The documents–part of a PowerPoint fundraising presentation–instruct fundraisers to appeal to two categories of donors: smaller donors motivated by FEAR and major donors motivated by EGO and peer pressure.

Apparently a master of the understatement, Steele conceded, “On paper, the language doesn’t sound appealing.”

The presentation also included a cartoon montage of pics depicting President Obama as the Joker, House Speaker Pelosi as Cruella Deville and Senate Majority Leader Reid as Scooby Doo.
