Iraqis In The US Take To The Polls

Iraqis voted today in their second parliamentary elections since the US invasion. There were nine polling stations open in the United State of America for Iraqis living here.

The polling station in Phoenix was located in a former auto-repair shop just West of Northern and 27th, next to another rented space where people could congregate. Like all stations, it opened 2 days early so that everyone would have a chance to participate. Today, people braved cold, rainy conditions to take part. Turnout was heavy.

The other polling stations were located in San Diego (CA), Washington (DC), Nashville (TN), San Francisco (CA), Chicago (IL), Dallas (TX), Detroit (MI), and Dearborn (MI).
