Obama: Ready for Prime Time
President Obama shined at the White House Correspondence Dinner. Taking good natured pot shots at everyone from Joe Biden to Jay Leno, the media to the Birthers, the President’s cool, affable demeanor delivered quite a comic punch.
A few zingers:
“Wasn’t sure if I should come tonight. Biden talked me into it… whispered into my ear, ‘Mr. President this is a big —- deal!”
“My approval ratings are still very high in the country of my birth.”
“My dear friend Hillary Clinton pulled me aside and told me despite the numbers, ‘Don’t worry, Barack, you’re likable enough.”
“I am glad that the only person’ whose ratings fell more than mine is here tonight; glad to see you Jay. Also glad that I’m speaking first, because we all know what happens when someone takes the time slot that used to be Leno’s.”
“All the jokes brought to you by Goldman-Sachs. Don’t worry, they make money whether you laugh at them or not.”
“There are few things harder to come by than love. Well love and a birth certificate.”

A new book released today uncovers for the first time where and how President Obama first met Weather Underground terrorist-group founder William Ayers, and it is much earlier than previously believed.
