GOP Advisor: “GOP Out of Step On Don’t Ask Don’t Tell”

Why are the Republicans in Congress–including John McCain whose battle to cling to his Senate seat has apparently driven the recovering maverick over the edge of Tea Partydom–so out of step with the rest of the country on “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell?” According to conservative commentator George Will the GOP pols are “not being very intelligent.” And Republican strategist and former Bushie Matthew Dowd, whose son just completed a five year stint in the military, told ABC’s “This Week” panel that the younger generation is beyond ready for serving with openly gay colleagues.

All right, already, old white guys of the GOP, get in step with the rest of the country–even people in your own party. It’s time to move forward and honor all veterans for their service and sacrifice.
