VIDEO: Olbermann’s “Beck U” Summer School Adventures

He couldn’t resist.

Keith Olbermann had to fork over the $79 to enroll in Glenn Beck University, the fright wing media misinforminator’s latest attempt to “re-educate” the American public. The Beckster and his astute on-line faculty offer their creative re-interpretations on American history, coloring every facet through a right wing Christian lens. In a segment he called “Debunk U”, during last Thursday’s “Countdown, ” Olbermann interviewed “Jesus For Liars” author Chris Rodda about both the humorous and potentially dangerous aspects of Beck’s new enterprise.

As the Becskter himself pointed out with his usually hyperbolic puerile hysteria, his ratings and those of fellow Fox News misinforminators like Bll O. and Hannity continue to trounce MSNBC.

So while I’d like to simply dismiss Beck as the “rodeo clown” he calls himself when the unpleasant glare of scrutiny shines too brightly onto his doughy puss, those ratings are enough to send shivers of concern up any well-educated American’s spine.

I guess we can take some solace in the fact that Beck’s latest bestseller, a conspiracy theory filled thriller, is lingering near the top of the Fiction Bestseller list. Sure it’s a bitter pill for those of us who toil with words to swallow, but at least no one will misconstrue his latest fiction for fact.
