VIDEO: Maddow Slams Bill O. With Humor

“You are still wrong on what really matters… and that would be the facts, your Highness.”

Rachel Maddow slammed back against Bill O’Reilly’s smug, combative Fox News rant. It’s her use of humor and charm that surely infuriates the mean-spirited Fox fanatics. She comes clean on the obvious: much to the chagrin of all liberals, the purveyors of fright wing vitriol consistently trounce MSNBC in the ratings. No getting around it. But Maddow points out–as I have many times–in the overall ratings game, all cable “news” outlets trail an array of entertainment shows including “Deadliest Catch,” “W.W.E. Wrestling” and “The Closer,” a popular and decent police procedural that has managed to elude Rachel’s cultural lexicon.

Maddow–who can slip into the geek zone when she becomes too pleased with herself–strikes just the right notes here. Of course, part of the fun is imagining Bill O’s reaction. He never utters the name Keith Olbermann, and it’s doubtful he’ll wade in Maddow’s witty waters again any time soon. There simply aren’t enough loofahs to smooth out Bill O’s thin skin.
