Video: Racism Pervasive in NYPD’s Stop & Frisk Policy
The NYPD’s notorious “Stop & Frisk” policy has become a key debate issue in the upcoming race for the state’s Attorney General seat. Stop and Frisk allows officers to stop citizens who simply meet a description or profile of a suspect. Individuals are questioned and frisked. The current controversy surrounds keeping information on all those who are stopped, even those who were NEVER ARRESTED for anything. That’s right: you get stopped, your info, your photo, will be in the criminal justice system, and may pop up during future criminal investigations as well as background checks by employers and creditors. Unbelievable.
But beyond that obvious violation of civil liberties, there is an undeniable, inherent racism in the practice itself. According to the New York Civil Liberties Union more than 2 million innocent New Yorkers were subjected to police stops and interrogations between 2004 and 2010. Blacks ( over 50% each year) and Latinos ( over 29% each year)are overwhelmingly the targets of this practice that according to the NYPD’s own reporting reveals 9 out of 10 of those stopped completely INNOCENT of any criminal activity.
This video–shot by interns at ColorLines Magazine-offers a compelling first-hand view of just what many innocent citizens are subjected to on the streets of New York City in the year 2010.

It’s very good
Please have someone check your stories for spelling/grammar/flow before publishing them – it would make it easier to read, and give your article (and this website) more credibility. Example:
“…reveals 9 out of 10 of those stopped completely INNOCENT of any criminal activity.”
I think you wanted to write:
“…reveals 9 out of 10 of those stopped (are/were) completely innocent of (the accused/alleged) criminal activity.
OK story.
