VIDEO: Clinton’s Charisma: The Dems Last Ditch Campaign Weapon

“Michele Bachmann’s story goes something like this: okay, we left you in a really big hole, but the Democrats had twenty-one months to get you out of it. And they failed and they failed spending too much money and giving you too much government and if you don’t stop them right now socialism will be around every corner.” That was Bill Clinton’s opening Salvo to a group of Tarryl Clark supporters at a Minnesota rally Monday.

And even though this video clip obstructs a full view of the former President, his signature charisma is loud and clear. Say what you will about Clinton, but his “Bubba Appeal,” that natural “I feel your pain” connection coupled with a keen intelligence and effortless eloquence makes him the consummate politician’s politician.

“The Democratic retort goes something like this: yeah we didn’t get you out of the hole. It was a very deep hole. But we did what our parents taught us to do. At least we stopped digging. And we are getting out of the hole. And about all we ask is that you give us two more years. That would give us four years to get you out of the hole. That’s about half the time it took the Republicans to dig it!”

If only Bill Clinton could campaign everywhere 24/7. Talk about closing the enthusiasm gap. Still we mere mortals must do what we can. We’ve got a week left to rally the electorate and get out the vote!
