The End of the American Dream?

When the wealth being created by workers is gobbled up by the rich, there is no economic opportunity or social compact.  Restoring The American Dream requires giving a bigger piece of the pie to those who make it in the first place.

America was founded on socialist principals and what was made the American Dream possible, they just didn’t call it it socialism then. The more Socialist we were the better off the majority of Americans were. It’s been the capitalists run wild that has ruined this country and any hopes for the future generations the bought and paid for politicians like to cry about.

When was welfare created? America didn’t really become socialist until 1900s. America was founded because we didn’t want to pay high taxes. What are we doing now. Middle class pays a majority of taxes. Abolish taxes on middle class and get rid of welfare, make people work for there own money. And tax the companies that are making hugh profits to help pay for worker retirements.

Terry: “America was founded because we didn’t want to pay high taxes.”
Incorrect. Firstly, United States of America, not “America.”
Secondly, we founded our nation because we didn’t want taxation without representation. Meaning, we wanted to vote for what we should be taxed for, for the good of this nation. Thirdly, the middle class pays a majority of taxes because we are the largest class. The upper and lower class pay their taxes as well.

After World War II the highest tax rate on the rich was 90%. That was the greatest period of economic prosperity in the history of this country. The rich had to work harder to earn their money and they were rewarded for reinvesting their cash. Nowadays they are rewarded for trashing companies and taking the money out at ultra-low tax rates. This will not end until corporate influence on Washington stops. That is not going to happen until the Supreme Court gets de-radicalized.
