US is Backing up a de Facto Talibanization of the Middle-EastIn the Middle-East, the United States de facto alliance with Islamist fundamentalist organizations, such as the Muslim Brotherhood, is potentially undermining America’s very own policies in the region and worldwide. This alliance of strange bed fellows- the US and the Muslim Brotherhood- is at play in Egypt, Tunisia and also in Syria. According to a recent report in the New York Times, CIA officers are now working from Turkey with the Syrian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood to smuggle arms to Syria to fight the Assad regime. Some within the Muslim Brotherhood are adamant supporters of the Sharia law.

“It didn’t work in Afghanistan (in the 80s) when the CIA was arming what would become Al-Qaeda, and it is certainly not going to work in Syria and Egypt where the United States is backing up a de facto Talibanization of the Middle-East,” said News Junkie Post Editor in Chief Gilbert Mercier.
