On July 8, eleven Greenpeace activists climbed Mount Rushmore and hung a banner challenging President Obama to show real leadership on global warming and climate change. The banner, measuring 65 feet high by 35 feet wide features an unfinished portrait of Obama.

Yesterday, C-Span released an online survey conducted on June 7 2009, among 1,002 voters who voted in the 2008 general election. As the Senate confirmation hearings for Judge Sotomayor start next week, the poll’s findings are alarming, and illustrate how little Americans know about the Supreme Court.

U.S. Army Releases June Suicide Data
Today, the US Army released suicide data for the month of June. Among active-duty soldiers there were no confirmed suicides and 9 potential ones. In May, the Army reported 1 confirmed suicide and 16 potential suicides. Since that time, 7 have been confirmed and 9 remain under investigation.
