Photographs: Remembering 9/11 In Malibu California

Pepperdine University’s sign above says: “Welcome Visitors, Pepperdine University is proud to honor the memory of the innocent men and women who lost their lives in the tragic attacks on the United States on 9/11/2001 in New-York, Pennsylvania and at the Pentagon. This exhibit displays one flag for each victim of the attacks, including the flags from other nations whose citizens died on that fateful day. We are grateful to so many caring and considerate volunteers who have made this remembrance possible.”

This week-end  Pepperdine University, in Malibu California, held a memorial for the victims of 9/11/2001. Pepperdine’s beautiful grounds are right on the coast, on the other side of Pacific Coast Highway. Countless flags floated in the Pacific ocean’s breath. Mainly American flags, but also national flags from the counties of foreign victims of the tragedy.

Editor’s Note: All photographs by Gilbert Mercier. All photographs were taken in Malibu California on 9/12/2010.
